Happy Holidays!


Are you basking in holiday mode? Celebrating Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, Festivus, the New Year??? I hope you are taking time for self-care during this busy time.  I’m certainly trying to fit in some. I think getting a massage, a facial and “down” time to regenerate is never overrated.

I haven’t worked in front of the camera since I last posted here. Yikes! I have performed murder mystery shows and have been a standardized patient a few times, but it’s been a bit of a famine. In all fairness to me, I had a medical outpatient procedure performed and my agent had to prepare for me to be unavailable in case the procedure went awry – which thankfully it did not. But it also meant she didn’t submit me for projects in case I couldn’t do them.  Also, traditionally the holidays are not a usual time for projects to shoot. I’m definitely ready to get back in front of the camera when the holidays are over.

I do have a couple of projects coming up that I am excited about.  In January, I am shooting a student film (read: NO PAY). I had basically sworn off doing projects for free, but a friend of mine helped write the script and he’ll be in it and I relish the chance to work with him. Plus, the script is good. So…here I go. The script is a bit of a situation comedy with two different couples having rented the same AirBnB on the same dates.  

And in late-February/early March I will be flying to Blanco, Texas to shoot a Western short, WHITE TALON CITY. The writer/producer/director is someone I admire who is bringing a strong female voice to the screen. I am deeply honored to play a lead role in this film.  Currently, there is a crowdfunding campaign for this film. The budget is $8000. You can be an Executive Producer for $1000. And in a quirk of timing, one night recently while I was performing a murder mystery show, the mini-series JonBenet: An American Murder Mystery aired on the Investigation Discovery channel.  I played Patsy Ramsey in that project. I found the timing as a sign that being an actor is exactly what the Universe wants me to do.
